SCULPTURE UNVEILED ON AUGUST 4, 2007

On Saturday, August 4, 2007, the Redlin Art Center unveiled a new sculpture inside the Redlin Gallery. The piece was commissioned by long-time friend and advisor to the Redlins, John P. Schwan. The life-size bronze bust of Terry Redlin is a gift to the Redlin family from Mr. Schwan and his partners, Sarathi Giridhar and Michael Duch of Schwan Financial Group. The sculpture is now on permanent display inside the Redlin Art Center.

The sculptor, Benjamin Victor of Aberdeen, describes his natural ability to sculpt as “a gift from God”. Victor joined the ranks of Michelangelo, Bernini, Daniel Chester French, and Maya Lin by receiving his first large commission at only 23 years old. At age 26, he became the youngest artist ever to have a sculpture in our Nation’s foremost collection of figurative sculpture, the National Statuary Hall in the United States Capitol.
